Speedtest.net There are probably thousands of connection speed testing web-sites, but this one has a neat feature that's useful for SL. You can choose a server to test against by location.

Sometimes I have found that every one I try in America is giving me a slow response, which must mean that my in-world lag is more due to the trans-atlantic connection than anything else.
